🔼 We’re No. 1. Villanova has been selected to finish No. 1 in the CAA Football Preseason Poll! The defending CAA Football co-champions posted 10 wins last year and return veteran quarterback, Connor Watkins. The QB was named CAA Football Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and is one of six Wildcats selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team. He is joined by offensive lineman Temi Ajirotutu, linebackers Brendan Bell and Shane Hartzell, cornerback Isas Waxter and safety Ty Trinh. Wide receiver Jaylan Sanchez was an Honorable Mention.

🏈 Isas Waxter was also named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List.

🔼 Smarty ‘Cats. The women’s lacrosse team was named an IWLCA DI Academic Honor Squad, plus had 13 Wildcats land IWLCA Academic Honors. The team posted a GPA above 3.2 to earn the recognition. Sami Carey, Claire Chmiel, Mary Kate Conniff, Isabella Francati, Cate Gallagher, Kayla Gulmi, Lindsay Kupka, Jessie Lee, Meghan Lowe, Cara Moreau, Jenna Pastore, Aca Ruggieri and Olivia Stoddard set a program-high for student-athletes tabbed as Academic Honor Roll members.

🔼 Jhamir Buckets. Villanova men’s basketball transfer Jhamir Brickus is a dynamic lead guard who had a successful four seasons at La Salle. He brings his bucket-getting ability to Villanova, but he’s also an elite distributor. Learn more about Jhamir Brickus here.
