šŸ“ˆ STOCK UP

šŸ”¼  We Are The Champions. Villanova softball won the BIG EAST Tournament for the third time in four years! They took down UConn, 4-1, on Friday to advance to the championship game where they would meet Creighton. On Saturday, they beat Creighton by the same 4-1 score to win the tournament title. Alyssa Seidler picked up the win in the circle, while Caroline Pellicano earned the save. Pellicano was named the tournamentā€™s Most Outstanding Player after earning a win and two saves. Ally Jones was responsible for all four runs after she launched a pair of home runs. The Wildcats will play in the Fayetteville Regional at Arkansas. Theyā€™ll play Arizona on Friday at 6 p.m.

 

šŸ”¼ History Made. The womenā€™s track & field team took seven event titles to finish second-place at the BIG EAST Championships. Jane Livingston became the second BIG EAST athlete ever to be the womenā€™s 60m/60mH champion indoors and the 100m/100mH champion outdoors in the same calendar year. Olivia Allen won the 400mH, Madison Martinez won the 800m, and Adria Retter won the discus. The Wildcats also won the 4Ɨ400m relay. Theyā€™ll prepare for the NCAA East Preliminary meet in two weeks.

šŸ”¼ Shining Silver. The menā€™s track & field team also had a second-place finish in the BIG EAST Championships. Tristan Bolinsky was the individual high point scorer and Most Outstanding Performer of the field events. He won the hammer throw and shot put before finishing second in the discus. Sean Dolan finished his BIG EAST career undefeated in open 800m races and set multiple records for career 800m titles in conference history. Amiri Prescod won the 100m and Liam Murphy broke a stadium and championship meet record in the 1500m.

šŸ”¼ Senior Saturday. Villanova baseball hosted Butler for their final conference home series of the season. Saturdayā€™s Senior Day doubleheader was split between the two teams, with the Wildcats taking game one 3-2. Scott Shaw hit a home run to tie the game in the sixth inning. Michael Whooley and Jack Oā€™Reilly responded to a Butler run with a home run each to take the 3-2 lead. The Wildcats went on to fall in extra innings of game two, 10-9. They responded after going down 7-2 on Sunday, but couldnā€™t finish the comeback as they fell 9-6.

šŸ”¼  Meet The Wildcat. Villanova menā€™s basketball is welcoming the newest signee, Jhamir Brickus! Heā€™s a guard who spent the last four seasons at La Salle. Last season, he averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 41 points against Temple last November. Heā€™s from Coatesville, Pa. and scored 2,561 points at Coatesville Area High School.
