🔼  Triple Threat. The women’s rowing team won all three of their races against Stockton yesterday. Each boat won by at least 20 seconds! The 2V8 team won by 27 seconds with a 7:33.58 time. The V8 boat took the largest win of the day at 32 seconds and the V4 crew crossed the finish line 28 seconds ahead of Stockton. They’ll look towards the CAA Championship in two week.

🔼 Split Decision. Villanova and Iona split the weekend series thanks to some weather cancelling Sunday’s rubber match. Iona got the 10-7 win in the series opener on Friday, despite three home runs hit by Wildcats. Saturday was a different story as Villanova took the 9-8 win. The two teams combined for six home runs with Jason Neff, Shane Solari, and Scott Shaw going yard for the ‘Cats. Devin Rivera earned the win on the mound after throwing five innings. Patrick Montfort got the save as he allowed zero runs on two hits.

🔼 Came Close. The men’s lacrosse BIG EAST Championship game was just as thrilling as the semifinal, but this time Villanova was on the wrong side. The Wildcats fought till the very end as they went into overtime, but ultimately fell 12-11 to Georgetown. Thomas McIntire led the Wildcats with three points. Matt Licata and Colin Michener had a goal and an assist each. Anthony Wilson, Stephen Zupicich, and Licata were all named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team. Villanova caps the season with a 9-7 record. The senior class accounted for 39 victories.

🔼 Onto The Next. Villanova softball set the new high for most BIG EAST single season wins in program history on Friday as they won game two against Butler. The Wildcats finished the regular season with 19 conference wins, one more than last season. They went 1-2 against Butler over the weekend, but keep the No. 1 seed going into the BIG EAST Tournament this week. Seniors Tess Cites, Emily Orr, Brooklyn Ostrowski, Carolina Pellicano, and Alyssa Seidler were honored before Saturday’s game.
