🔼 The Olympic Trifecta. Villanovans went 3-for-3 on the first night of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field as the trio of McKenna Keegan, Casey Comber and Liam Murphy moved on to the semifinal round of their respective events. Keegan advanced from the first round of the women's 800 meters while Comber and Murphy survived an incredible finish in the same heat of the men's 1500 meters to move on.

🔼  Smarter by Leaps and Bounds. Senior high jumper Roschell Clayton (Montego Bay, Jamaica) was named the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Women's Track & Field Performer of the Year in an announcement made on Friday morning. The honor combines academic excellence with athletic accomplishments and is voted on by the media relations offices from more than two dozen colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area. Clayton is one of 11 student-athletes who make up the PhillySIDA Women's Track & Field Academic All-Area Team.

🔼  Wicked Smaht. Fifth year collegiate middle distance runner Sean Dolan (Ewing, N.J.) was named the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Men's Track & Field Performer of the Year. The honor combines academic excellence with athletic accomplishments and is voted on by the media relations offices from more than two dozen colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area. 🔼  Home Turf Advantage. After a road-heavy slate last season, Villanova revealed its 2024 schedule women’s soccer schedule that will keep the Wildcats at Higgins Soccer Complex for most of the season. The team will play 10 of its 18 games on the Main Line.
 
In head coach Samar Azem's third season at the helm, Villanova looks to build off of a 4-7-7 season in 2023 that saw the group be one of the last 13 undefeated teams in the nation and the last remaining one in the BIG EAST, starting the season with nine consecutive unbeaten games.
 
The regular season opens with three consecutive home matches starting with a 4 p.m. tilt against James Madison on Thursday, August 15. The 'Cats then host Temple and Penn on August 18 and August 23, respectively.

🔼 🔥Blazing Hot Off the Presses . For the first time in 36 years there will be a Villanovan in the final of the men's 1500 meters at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Rising fifth year collegian Liam Murphy had the fastest closing kick in the field for the second straight night and is an automatic qualifier after finishing second in his semifinal heat in 3:38.08 at Hayward Field on Saturday evening. It was another successful night for Wildcats track & field as women's alumna Sanaä Barnes easily reached the final round in women's high jump competition.
