Good Morning Nova Nation 7/22: Lights, Camera, Nova
Today, we look ahead to Villanova head football coach Mark Ferrante heading to Media Days
Good morning, Nova Nation! We’re getting closer to football season, and this week, Coach Ferrante will be taking on CAA Media Days!
What are we having with our Brew?
🏀 What hiatus? MBB has been putting in the work
⏳ Strolls down Memory Lane in football and men’s soccer
🔷 And much, much more!

🔼 No Rest For the Weary. Nova MBB has been putting in that summer work! 💪🏽
🔼 Bye Bye, Bison. With Villanova’s men’s soccer team taking on Bucknell on Aug. 10, 2024, we took a little stroll down Memory Lane to their last contest on Sept. 1, 2010.👇🏼
Freshman Joseph Schmid made his first college goal one to remember.
Schmid, one of four Wildcat then-newcomers to see action in the team's season opener, sent a shot in from 25 yards that skipped off Bucknell goalkeeper Tommy Caso to give VU a 2-1 overtime victory over the Bison in a game played here before 896 fans on an 83-degree night. Both Wildcat goals came from freshmen making their college debuts.
Villanova traveled there to open the 2010 campaign against the squad selected as the overwhelming favorite in the Patriot League, as The Bison posted a 17-6 record in 2009.
🔼 Penguins Put Down. It’s another jaunt in our Time Machine, but this time in football. With the Nova opener against Youngstown State on Aug. 29, we’re doing a retrospective on the last matchup between the two teams in December of 2023. 👇🏼
Then-fifth year quarterback Connor Watkins rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another while amassing 331 yards of total offense to lead #8 seed and No. 6 Villanova (10-2) to a 45-28 victory over Youngstown State (8-5) in the second round of the Division I Football Championship at Villanova Stadium. The victory advanced the Wildcats to a quarterfinal matchup against #1 seed South Dakota State (12-0).
And that brings us to our present-day question: GOT TICKETS!?
