🔼 Clutch Mode. Sometimes it takes every inch to pull out a win.
That was the case for the 18th-ranked Villanova football squad, who pulled out 17-16 nailbiter at Bucknell on Saturday for the program’s first-ever Patriot League victory.
Junior placekicker Dominic LeBlanc kicked the decisive field goal with just over eight minutes left and fifth year defensive standout Garrett Rogan got a piece of Bucknell’s last-second field goal attempt to perserve the victory for the Wildcats.
🔼 Monday Matinee. This afternoon, the Villanova men’s soccer team will put its unbeaten record on the line against another unbeaten squad, FDU, in a 1 p.m. Labor Day matchup at Higgins Soccer Complex.
In the ‘Cats four matches this season, Villanova has allowed just one goal combined.
🔼 Pickin’ Up A Pair. For a second straight weekend, the Villanova volleyball squad picked up a pair of victories, this time at the Colgate Classic in Hamilton, N.Y.
The ‘Cats kicked off their weekend with a thriller, battling to a five-set victory over a tough Princeton squad and capped it off with another five-set win over the host, Colgate.
Campbell McKinnon had another big weekend for Villanova, racking up 37 kills in the three matches.
🔼 Sunday Cellys. The Villanova field hockey team moved 3-1 on the season after a decisive 10-0 win over New Haven at Snell Field in the team's home opener on Sunday afternoon.
The ‘Cats had nine different players score a goal and tied for the second most goals in one game in program history.
