🔼 We Are Family. Villanova football took down Long Island University, 24-10, on Saturday night, making it a successful Family Weekend! The young backs made their presence known in the win. Redshirt freshman Isaiah Ragland and true freshman David Avit combined for three touchdowns. The Wildcats have now won 12 straight home games. They’ll travel to Stony Brook on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. game.

🔼 BIG Start. The volleyball team started conference play in dominant fashion. On Friday, they swept Georgetown for their third straight sweep. They turned around to defeat Seton Hall, 3-1, on the road Saturday. Taylor Jakubowski has recorded three double-doubles in a row. They’ll hit the road this weekend for matches at DePaul and Xavier.

Friends of Nova partnered with UBS to host the Financial Literacy Training Event last week. Pro Bowl defensive end Wale Ogunleye and former All-American Randy Foye shared their personal journeys from college stars to professional athletes. They also shared financial mistakes and how to manage their money.

🔼  She Is The Champion. The cross country teams ran at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational over the weekend. On the women’s side, Sadie Sigfstead claimed the individual title with a 19:55.7 time. Nikki Vanasse finished in 11th to help the Wildcats to a 13th-place team finish.

The men’s team came in 10th-place overall. Liam Murphy finished in third, less than five seconds behind the winning pace. Marco Langon had the second-fastest Wildcat finish, placing 12th.

🔼 Split The Weekend. The field hockey team had a 1-1 weekend. They started things off by defeating Quinnipiac, 4-2, on Friday. Their four-game winning streak was the longest since 2018. That streak was snapped on Sunday when No. 7 Iowa defeated the Wildcats, 2-0.

🔼 Not Our Day. The women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to No. 21 Xavier yesterday, marking their first conference loss of the season. Hannah Dickinson recorded nine saves in the goal, her second most of the season. Madison Shumante led the Wildcats with four shots. They’ll host DePaul on Thursday at 4 p.m.
