🔼 And Here We Go! The quest for a ninth straight season opening victory is just over 24 hours away for the Villanova football program as the 13th-ranked ‘Cats welcome Colgate to town for a Saturday afternoon showdown presented by Rothman Orthopaedics.

Tomorrow will open the 128th season of Villanova footbal and mark just the third time in the past 25 years that the ‘Cats have opened at home.

Last season, Villanova welcomed Youngstown State in a top-25 showdown in the season opener, with the ‘Cats prevailing in a 24-17 thriller.

🔼 Forever A Legend. This week, the Villanova community lost a legendary figure as the family of George Raveling announced that he passed away on Sept. 1 at the age of 88 following a battle with cancer.

Raveling, a native of Washington, D.C., played basketball for the Wildcats and head coach Alexander Severance from 1957-1960. His 835 career rebounds – amassed in just three varsity seasons – still rank 13^th on the program's all-time carom list. He later became an assistant to Head Coach Jack Kraft, launching a career that would take him to head coaching stops at Washington State, Iowa, and USC. In 2015, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater the following year.

🔼 Coming Home. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are back at Villanova, and they’re bringing the Roommates Show 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 to Finneran Pavilion on Wednesday, September 17 at 7 PM.

This isn’t just a podcast taping. It’s the official launch of the 2025–26 Villanova Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons, with team introductions, live conversations with Coaches Kevin Willard and Denise Dillon, appearances from the 2016 National Champions, and even a surprise celebrity guest. 🔼 Country’s Finest. She’s only a few weeks into her Villanova career, but freshman Aimee Largoza is already making a name for herself.

This week, the Downingtown, Pa., native was selected to the U21 Junior Women’s National Team Selection Camp.

Largoza will join the rest of the invitees for camp from December 19-21 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The 2025-26 U-21 USWNT will compete in the Junior Pan American Championship, a Junior World Cup qualifying event, in Santiago Chile from April 7 to 18.
