🔼 Action Packed Weekend On Tap. A jam-packed weekend begins this afternoon for the ‘Cats as the field hockey team hits the field looking for its first BIG EAST victory of the season when it squares off with local foe Temple in a 12 p.m. showdown.
The volleyball team jumps into conference action as well with a Friday night trip to Butler (7 p.m.) and a Saturday afternoon battle with Xavier (4 p.m.).
Saturday’s action picks up with a nationally-ranked showdown on the gridiron with #22 Villanova battles #23 Colgate in a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
Both soccer squads are in BIG EAST action, while the cross country squads will be hitting the course in Princeton.
🔼 Coming Together. Villanova Athletics is gearing up for 1842 Day, Villanova University's 10th annual day of giving, on September 29. Wildcats around the world will have the opportunity to support their favorite varsity programs while helping teams compete in the inaugural Wildcat Challenge, a fundraising competition with $100,000 in prize money up for grabs.
The Wildcat Challenge will reward varsity programs for performance in several categories including unique donor participation, first-time donor engagement, average gift size, alumni support, and year-over-year growth. The top overall program will earn the Varsity Cup along with a $25,000 prize for its sport operating fund.
🔼 Host With The Most. Get your popcorn ready, ‘Cats fans!
Tomorrow night, our guy Jalen Brunson will be the host for the season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on NBC.
After leading the New York Knicks to the NBA Championship in June, Brunson will now step into history to become just the 33rd athlete in the program’s history to host the show.
The show will go live at 11:30 p.m. ET tomorrow night.
🔼 Risin’ Up. Coming off a victory at the season-opening Main Line Invitational, the Villanova women’s cross country team moved up the national rankings and now sit at #29 in the country.
The ‘Cats will lace them up again this weekend at the Meadows Challenge in Princeton, N.J.
🔼 Back In The Lab. With just 40 days separating us from the return of Villanova women’s hoops, the ‘Cats hit the court this week for the first official practice for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
