🔼 Empire State Of Mind. Veteran QB Pat McQuaide engineered a game-winning 85-yard touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter as No. 22 Villanova rallied for a 20-16 road victory over LIU on Saturday afternoon.
McQuaide drove down the field in eight plays after the Wildcats fell behind by a 16-13 margin with less than three minutes to play. His 13-yard touchdown pass to Ja'briel Mace with 1:08 to play swung the pendulum back to Villanova for the team's seventh consecutive road win against FCS competition.
Mace finished with 132 yards of total offense with two scores, sophomore wideout Brandon Binkowski had a career-day with six catches for 113 yards.
🔼 Home Sweet Home. Villanova Volleyball put together a perfect home-opening weekend at Jake Nevin Field House, earning victories over UMBC (3-2) and Princeton (3-0).
Campbell McKinnon had a monster weekend for the ‘Cats, racking up 27 kills in the two matches, including a career-best 20 in the dramatic five-set thriller over UMBC on Friday.
The two-win weekend gives Villanova momentum as the Wildcats now turn their attention to BIG EAST play, beginning with road matches against Butler on September 25 and Xavier on September 26.
🔼 Senior Salutin’. The Villanova women’s soccer team will head into BIG EAST play unbeaten as the ‘Cats wrapped up nonconference action with a hard-fought 1-1 tie with Princeton on Senior Sunday at Higgins Soccer Complex.
Dez Zapata scored the equalizer in the 41st minute to help the ‘Cats secure the point.
On the season, Villanova is 5-0-3 and outscoring the opposition by a tally of 26-2.

🔼 Lockin’ Him In. Former Wildcat standout Saddiq Bey doesn’t appear to be going anywhere after signing a three-year contact extension with the New Orleans Pelicans over the weekend.
Bey missed the 2024-25 season after sustaining a torn ACL while with the Atlanta Hawks, but had a resurgent first full season back last year with New Orleans, averaging a career-high 17.7 points per game.
He appeared in 72 games for the Pelicans last season, including 64 starts. On top of his career-best scoring average, Bey also averaged 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
🔼 Top-10 Showing. Led by Vibhav Alokam’s top-20 showing, the Villanova men’s golf squad earned a top-10 overall finish at The Goat, hosted by Navy at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club over the weekend.
Alokam led the ‘Cats in two of the three rounds, carding at 4-over to finish 16th in the field.
