🔼 M’m, M’m, Good! Maybe the legendary slogan wasn’t meant for the soup, but for Villanova volleyball standout Campbell McKinnon.
For the second time in as many weeks, McKinnon earned a BIG EAST major weekly award as the middle blocker picked up Defensive Player of the Week.
McKinnon becomes the first Wildcat since Allison Fitzgerald in 2017 to win a pair of Player of the Week nods in one season and only the seventh Villanova volleyball player ever to earn multiple POTW honors in their careers.
🔼 Youth Of A Nation. For the first time this season, Villanova soccer landed a Freshman of the Week laurel with Avrie Nelsen receiving the nod from the BIG EAST on Monday.
She is the third Wildcat to be honored this season and the first to land one of the major weekly awards. Villanova has now been represented on the awards ledger for three consecutive weeks.
Nelsen scored a brace in the win at Penn with goals in the 32nd and 36th minutes, becoming the first Wildcat to have a multi-goal game this season.
