🔼 Nine Is Fine. Even the rain couldn’t slow down the Villanova women’s soccer team on Sunday as the ‘Cats posted their second straight shutout to start the 2026 season in a dominant 9-0 road victory over Lehigh.
The nine goals scored were the most for Villanova since an 11-0 victory against Howard on Oct. 27, 2002. Morgan Kotch led the way offensively with two goals on the day.
Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Villanova Football this fall. The Wildcats will
host William & Mary on Friday, August 28 at 6 p.m.
🔼 Countin’ Down. We are now just 1️⃣1️⃣ days away from kickoff for the 2026 Villanova Football season.
The season is less than two weeks away and Ja’briel Mace is already giving opposing defensive coordinators nightmares.
Last season, the Somers Point, N.J., native had a breakout sophomore campaign for the Wildcats, totaling 15 touchdowns, including a career-high 1️⃣1️⃣ rushing touchdowns to help Villanova reach the FCS Semifinals.
Recognized as one of the most dangerous weapons in all of FCS, Mace has already garnered Preseason All-American accolades from multiple publications.
🔼 Breaking Out. Playing his collegiate ball within 25 miles of Citizens Bank Park, Villanova alum Gordon Graceffo has watched plenty of Phillies games.
But last week, Graceffo had a different perspective as he took the mound twice against the Phillies in a home series for the Cardinals. The third-year MLB reliever is having a breakout season with St. Louis, boasting a 7-1 record and a 3.17 ERA in 59.2 innings of work. All three are career highs for the former Wildcat.
Graceffo needs just three more wins to become the third Villanova alum in history to reach double-digit MLB wins in a single season joining Bill Dietrich and Mike O’Neill.
