🔼 Double Trouble. Two Wildcats earned Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America honors! Linebacker Shane Hartzell and cornerback Isas Waxter were named to the second team. Hartzell tallied a team-high 91 tackles, 50 solo, six tackles for loss, four sacks and one interception last season. Waxter started every game last year, recording 26 tackles, three interceptions and eight pass breakups.
🔼 At The Top. Villanova quarterback Connor Watkins was named to the Walter Payton Award Preseason Watch List! The award is given to the top player in FCS Football. Last week, he was named the Preseason CAA Offensive Player of the Year as he looks to lead the Wildcats to another CAA Championship.

🔼 Making Waves. The water polo team placed 15 on the 2024 Women’s All-Academic Awards List from the ACWPC. Adrienne Grimes, Coco Jones, Ella Mattocks, Emma Grabenstetter, Emma Mallory, Gracin Kerry, Isabel Foley, Tiffany Maguire, Amelia Baca, Anna Painter, Lauren Short, Sara Withers, Stella Byles, Tiane Parris and Abigail Shelby combine for the second-most honorees in Villanova program history. The Wildcats tied for the 12th best team GPA among varsity teams with a 3.66.
🔼 Most Impactful. Villanova head softball coach Bridget Orchard came in at No. 29 on Fox 40’s Top 40 Most Impactful Local Sports Figures of All Time! Fox 40 is a local station near Binghamton, New York. Still ranking eighth all-time in the program for hits, Coach Orchard came to play softball at Villanova from Binghamton High School. After spending time coaching at other schools, in 2019 she took over the Villanova program. She has reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times in 27 seasons. This past season, her Wildcats won the regular-season and postseason Big East Titles.
