🔼 And The Award Goes To... The star-studded summer of former Villanova standout Jalen Brunson continued this week at the annual ESPYs in Los Angeles.
Sitting amongst some of the top stars in all of sports, Brunson took home three awards, winning “Best Championship Performance, “Best Men’s Athlete” and the Knicks’ “Best Team” accolade.
While guiding the Knicks to their first championship since 1973, Brunson averaged 32.6 points per game in the Finals, to go along with 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals. That came after a regular season where he averaged 26.0 points, 6.8 assists and 0.8 steals for the 53-29 Knicks.
🔼 Battlin’ The Badgers. For the second consecutive year, Villanova and Wisconsin will meet in a crucial non-conference contest during the upcoming 2026-27 college basketball season, squaring off Dec. 12 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in the Philly Hoops Showdown.
Last December, Villanova defeated Wisconsin in the Milwaukee Hoops Showdown at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale Oct. 15, with a one-day presale set to take place the day prior.
🔼 Speedy & Smart. This week, Villanova track standout Lizzie Martell added to her list of accomplishments for the 2025-26 season.
On Wednesday, she named a Third Team Academic All-American.
Martell is the first women's student-athlete from Villanova since 2017 to earn this distinction, with the prestigious recognition coming on the heels of her being an indoor All-American in the 800 meters earlier this year.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Villanova Football this fall. The Wildcats will
host William & Mary on Friday, August 28 at 6 p.m.
🔼 Countin’ Down. We are now just 4️⃣2️⃣ days away from kickoff for the 2026 Villanova Football season.
Now on the sidelines at his alma mater, Chris Boden is one of the best QBs to ever put on a Wildcat uniform.
This fall, Boden will enter his eighth season as the program’s offensive coordinator and QBs coach, but back in the late 90s, he led a prolific Wildcat passing attack. He is the school record holder in several statistical categories, including his 4️⃣2️⃣ TD passes in 1997, which still remains Villanova’s single-season program record.
