🔼 Called to The Hall. This week in Eugene, Ore., Villanova great Dave Patrick officially was enshrined into the Collegiate Track & Field/Cross Country Athlete Hall of Fame. He is the fifth Villanovan to earn the distinction.

Patrick is one of the most decorated athletes in school history and his name is synonymous with the Wildcats tradition of excellence in track & field and cross country. He is no stranger to Hall of Fame ceremonies, with just a few of his previous honors including being inducted onto the Penn Relays Wall of Fame on two occasions (2002, 2016), the Villanova University Varsity Club Hall of Fame (1985) and the Villanova Stadium Track & Field Wall of Fame (1996).

He was a four-time NCAA individual champion and eight-time collegiate All-American to go along with winning six IC4A titles in the mile while running for the Wildcats.

As mentioned, Dave Patrick is the fifth Villanovan to be inducted into the Collegiate Track & Field/Cross Country Athlete Hall of Fame.

Who are the other four former Wildcats to earn the honor?

🔼 On The Move. An exciting new chapter in the history of Villanova Field Hockey will begin when the Wildcats move to a new permanent home in Radnor as part of the official opening of the Villanova University Cabrini Campus. The final stage of construction plans for the Wildcats brand new field is underway as Villanova ushers in a new era for both the University and Field Hockey program.

Construction of a new home base for games and training for the field hockey program is a transformational project which directly benefits Villanova student-athletes now and in the years to come. The new field will take over the space formerly known as Edith Robb Dixon Field. The facility is being upgraded this Summer with details to include a new state-of-the-art field hockey turf surface and irrigation system. Additional amenities will feature Villanova branding, new bleachers and a refreshed press box.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of Villanova Football this fall. The ‘Cats will
host William & Mary on August 29.

Countin’ The Days. We are now just 80 days away from kickoff for the 2026 season.

The date: Oct. 22, 2022
The opponent: Albany

With the Wildcats battling Albany a nailbiter, Rayjuon Pringle hauled in a pass from Connor Watkins and scampered 80 yards for a critical TD in an eventual 31-28 Villanova victory.

The play is the longest pass play in the past five seasons for the Wildcats.
