🔼  Championship ‘Cats. The women’s lacrosse team has advanced to the BIG EAST Championship for the first time in program history! The Wildcats defeated UConn 16-10 last night. They’ll play No. 1 Denver in the championship game at 11 a.m. tomorrow inside Villanova Stadium.

Villanova tied for the most All-BIG EAST selections in the conference! The Wildcats placed at least five players on the All-Conference teams for the third-straight season. Emma Verhoest, Sami Carey, Maddy Stoddard and Rose Christie all earned First Team recognition. Cate Gallagher, Leslie Iorio, Sydney Pappas and Elena Torres earned Second Team honors.

🔼 Right The Ship. The men’s lacrosse team is also BIG EAST Championship bound! They defeated No. 3 Providence 16-14 last night. The Wildcats scored six unanswered goals in the third quarter. They’ll play Georgetown tomorrow at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Five Wildcats earned All-BIG EAST honors for the regular season. Jake Melchionni was named the BIG EAST Co-Specialist of the Year! He was joined by Matt Licata and Jack Shoemaker on the All-BIG EAST First Team. Beau Kemler and Colin Michener earned Second Team recognition.

🔼 ‘Cats vs. Dogs. Villanova baseball is home for the weekend! They’ll host UConn, starting today at 3 p.m. The Wildcats are looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Four starters are batting over .300 — Austin Lemon, Brayden Leonard, Michael Whooley and Jason Neff. Fans at home can watch all three games on FloSports.

🔼 Senior Salute. Wildcat softball will host Providence in the regular season finale this weekend. Villanova will recognize seniors Ava Franz, Alexa Raphael, Elaina Wagner and Kelsey White at 11:50 a.m. before tomorrow’s game. Both teams are fighting for a BIG EAST Tournament berth, with just one game separating the two. The weekend will get started today at 3 p.m.

🔼  Big Honors. Some Wildcats earned Big 5 Women’s Basketball honors! Head coach Denise Dillon was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Coach of the Year. Additionally, Jasmine Bascoe was named Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Big 5. Maddie Webber earned Second Team recognition.
