Good morning, Nova Nation! When you picture athletes winning back-to-back championships, you think of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tom Brady, Sidney Crosby — now you can also think of Peter Weaver. He’s been crowned the Wildcat Spring individual champion in back-to-back seasons!

🔼 Tourney Time. The seven-seeded women’s tennis team will get things started at the Big East Championship this morning! They’ll take on 10-seed Seton Hall at 9 am in Cayce, South Carolina. The Wildcats defeated Seton Hall 5-2 just last week. The winner will move on to the quarterfinals tomorrow at 12:45 pm, where No. 2 DePaul awaits.

🔼 Midday Blues. Villanova baseball scored four in their 8-4 midday loss at Monmouth yesterday. Monmouth took a 4-0 lead in the second inning before the Wildcats found their groove and cut the deficit to one. The Hawks hit a two-run homer to extend their lead. Scott Shaw blasted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to make the score 7-4. The Wildcats will host Creighton this weekend for a conference matchup.

🔼 Pitcher’s Duel. A pitcher’s duel was had in yesterday’s softball game against Lehigh. Ava Franz and Grace Reed tallied two hits a piece with Ava hitting two doubles. Villanova pitchers Kat Gallant and Caroline Pellicano retired 11-straight batters, but it was after Lehigh had already gone up 2-0 and the Wildcats lost.
