🔼 The Hall Call. Villanova women's track & field and cross country head coach Gina Procaccio earned a top honor this week when she was announced as part of the 23rd inductee class to the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. Procaccio will be recognized along with other top athletes, coaches, contributors, and teams whose legacies have shaped the rich history of Philadelphia sports.
Procaccio has achieved the rare distinction of being a collegiate national champion as both an athlete and a coach. She rose to national prominence as one of the nation's top women's distance runner during her own racing career, and has gone on to a decades-long coaching career in which she has led Villanova women's cross country to two national championships.
🔼 History Maker. In the 75+ year history of the NBA, not a single undrafted player ever put together a season of 1,000+ points, 300+ rebounds, 350+ assists, 200+ made three-pointers and 95+ steals.
Until this year when former Villanova standout Collin Gillespie became the first to ever accomplish that feat. He finished with 1,012 points, 327 rebounds, 371 assists, 232 made 3-pointers and 99 steals.
Gillespie and the Suns battle the Golden State Warriors tonight for the eighth and final playoff spot in the NBA’s Western Conference.
🔼 Marchin’ On. The sixth-seeded Villanova women’s tennis team opened up their stay at the 2026 BIG EAST Championship in dominant fashion.
The ‘Cats rolled to a 4-0 sweep of 11th-seeded Providence, punching their ticket to the quarterfinal round. Villanova will now face third-seeded St. John’s at 1 pm this afternoon.
