Starting Up is powered by our friends at Jeff D’Ambrosio Auto Group, a leading auto dealership serving Chester County and the surrounding communities since 1975.

🔼  Left No Doubt. BIG EAST honors are here and there was no question about Eric Dixon. He was named one of the unanimous First Team selections! He leads the nation in scoring and is the BIG EAST scoring champion, the first from Villanova since Josh Hart. Additionally, Wooga Poplar was named All-BIG EAST Third Team. The Wildcats will play Seton Hall at the BIG EAST Tournament on Wednesday at 9 p.m.

🔼  Semifinal Sunday. The women’s basketball team advanced to the BIG EAST semifinal after beating Marquette 73-66 on Saturday. Jasmine Bascoe recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. They moved on to play top-seeded UConn on Sunday, where they fell 82-54.

🔼  Took Over Tampa. Villanova baseball won their third-straight series as they took two from South Florida! They fell 3-2 in Friday’s pitcher’s duel but bounced back quickly. The Wildcats downed the Bulls 12-9 on Saturday, highlighted by Jason Neff’s three-run homer. They clinched the series on Sunday with an 8-5 win. It’s the first time since 2007 that the Wildcats won three series in a row. They’ll host Monmouth on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

🔼 Put On A Show. The Wildcat water polo team took down Salem 18-11 on Alumni Day! They exploded in the first half, going up 14-3 and setting a season-high for goals in a half. They’ll begin conference play next week when they play Mount St. Mary’s, Siena and Virginia Military Institute.

🔼 Started Strong. The softball team started the weekend with a 10-2 run-rule over UConn to begin BIG EAST play. The Wildcats ended up dropping Saturday and Sunday’s games, 6-3 and 9-8, respectively. Like baseball, the Wildcats will host Monmouth on Wednesday afternoon.
