📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Defense Does It. The men’s basketball team got a 68-50 win over Providence in a defensive battle yesterday. The Wildcats took control, going on a 13-0 run at the beginning of the second half. Eric Dixon led the team with 12 points, and Brendan Hausen was close behind with 11. The Wildcat defense held Providence to just below 30% from the field. They’ll be back in action on Wednesday at Xavier.

🔼 Win In The Finn. The women’s basketball team also had a successful weekend, defeating Seton Hall 69-41. The Wildcats led by 30 at one point in the third quarter when the Pirates lost momentum. Four Wildcats scored in double figures — Lucy Olsen, Bella Runyan, Zanai Jones, and Christina Dalce. Lucy also recorded a career-high 10 assists. The ‘Cats improve to 8-3 at home this season! They’ll have a break until Saturday when they head to Marquette.

🔼 Perfect In The Pool. The best start to the women’s water polo season just keeps getting better! The ‘Cats are undefeated at 8-0 this season. They went 4-0 to sweep the VMI Invite over the weekend, taking wins from Mercyhurst, Gannon, Toronto, and McKendree. They look to keep the streak going on Thursday at Princeton.

🔷 ONE BIG THING

Villanova and UNITAS are hosting several events through February to celebrate Black History Month. The track and field team is hosting a Black History Month panel discussion this evening from 6:45 - 7:45 pm. Women’s lacrosse will celebrate Black History Month during their February 17 game against Bucknell. The men’s basketball team will will host the UNITAS game and celebration against Georgetown on February 27. You can find more events here!
