🔼 Going Long. The men’s basketball team took down DePaul 59-49 on the road! Defense was the name of this game as the Wildcats held DePaul to 31% shooting. Jordan Longino led the way for the Wildcats with 17 points. Eric Dixon scored 14 in the contest, while Wooga Poplar scored 12. Enoch Boakye was aggressive on the glass, grabbing 10 rebounds.

They return to the Wells Fargo Center in South Philly to host Xavier at noon on Sunday, presented by Kendra Scott. There will be $1 Philly pretzels and a contest for the best-dressed Eagles fan! Plus, the women’s basketball team will host an autograph session at the 11th Street Atrium.

🔼  Rally Caps. The women’s basketball team had to rally in the fourth quarter to secure a 63-59 road win over Butler! Maddie Webber led the Wildcats with 19 points in the close matchup. Jasmine Bascoe was close behind with 16 points and six rebounds. The Wildcats will host Creighton tomorrow at 2 p.m., presented by Villanova School of Business.

🔼 Got Us Going. Villanova softball started the season with a win! They defeated Utah State 7-4 in the first game of Texas A&M’s Aggie Classic. Kelsey White scored three times and drove in a pair of runs with a home run. Pitcher Kat Gallant delivered a complete game with four strikeouts.

The Wildcats will play Purdue today at 12:30 p.m. and Abilene Christian at 3 p.m. Tomorrow, they’ll face top-25 opponents, starting with No. 19 Baylor at 3 p.m. and host-team Texas A&M at 8 p.m.

🔼 Another One. Water polo goalkeeper Gracin Kerry earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week! She recorded 36 saves, six steals and three assists at last weekend’s Bruno Classic. This weekend, the Wildcats will play at the Harvard Invitational.

🔼 Sunday Funday. The men’s lacrosse season begins this Sunday! Join us at Villanova Stadium before your Super Bowl festivities as the Wildcats take on No. 12 Penn State at noon, presented by Jeff D’Ambrosio Auto Group. The first 100 fans will receive free hot chocolate!

The women’s lacrosse team will also start the season this weekend! They’ll host Binghamton tomorrow at 10 a.m.
