🔼 With Authority. The Villanova women’s hoops squad finished their regular season with authority on Thursday night, blowing past Seton Hall on the road for a 82-52 victory.
The win improves the ‘Cats overall record to 23-6 overall and 16-4 in the league, good for a second place finish in the BIG EAST standings.
For the eighth time in the past 12 games, Jasmine Bascoe scored 20+ points, finishing with 28 points, the second-highest single-game output of her season. She also added a career-high eight steals, dished out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds.
🔼 Called To The Hall. One of the all-time Villanova greats was bestowed the highest honor in collegiate track & field this week as Dave Patrick ‘68 was announced as part of the the Collegiate Track & Field/Cross Country Athlete Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Patrick will become the fifth Villanovan to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame at this year's induction ceremony which takes place on Sunday, June 7 at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene, Ore. at the start of NCAA Championships week.
🔼 Melchionni The Menace. For the second time in his career, Villanova LSM Jake Melchionni earned a spot on the USILA Team of the Week.
The honor follows up a game where Melchionni set a new career high in ground balls and led the contest in two different categories. The New Jersey native was also named to the list last season on April 14 following a seven-GB effort against St. John's.
🔼 Eyes On The Prize. The Villanova track & field squads head to Chicago hoping to load up its luggage on the way home.
Trophies and medals will be on the line in the Windy City this weekend as 10 women's teams and nine men's programs converge for the 2026 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships presented by JEEP.
For the first time this year, the BIG EAST Championships will air live on ESPN+ both Friday and Saturday.
