šŸ”¼ Broken Record. Indoor track & field season began over the weekend as the Wildcats competed at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston. Liam Murphy and Marco Langon shattered Villanovaā€™s 45-year-old 5k school record! Their times of 13:10.42 and 13:14.11 moved into the top 20 in NCAA indoor history. The pair finished the race in second and fourth, respectively.

Sadie Sigfstead recorded the eighth-fastest indoor 5k in school history, 15:52.27, which will join her other two top-11 record times.

The Wildcats will compete next at the Quaker Invitational at Penn in January.

šŸ”¼ The End. Villanova football closed the 2024 football season in the second round of the FCS Playoffs. They fell to six-seed Incarnate Word 13-6 on Saturday. The Wildcats held the Cardinals to their lowest point total in over five years. Ethan Gettman made 49 and 52-yard field goals on the cold and rainy afternoon. The 52-yarder is the second-longest in program history. Brendan Bell tied his career-high with 15 tackles. He and Zahmir Dawud forced Cardinal fumbles. Villanova finished the season with a 10-4 overall record.

šŸ”¼ Fell Short. The womenā€™s basketball team fell short as they lost to Fairfield 74-71 on Sunday, despite leading by as many as 13 points. Four Wildcats reached double-figures in scoring, led by Denae Carterā€™s 16 points. She also led the team with eight rebounds and added three assists. Jasmine Bascoe, Maddie Webber and Lara Edmanson also scored double-digit points. The ā€˜Cats will play at Delaware on Wednesday.
