🔼 Now, We Dance. Coming off a dominant regular season and riding its longest winning streak in 16 years, the Villanova football team is headed back to the FCS playoffs.

The field of 24 teams for the NCAA Division I Football Championship was announced Sunday afternoon live on ESPNU and the Wildcats earned the #12 seed in the tournament bracket.

Villanova will host a first round game on Saturday, November 29, against Harvard (9-1), an at-large selection from the Ivy League. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with kickoff slated for 12 pm at Villanova Stadium.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. No better way to celebrate the seniors than rolling to an eighth straight win and capping off a nine-win regular season.

That’s what the Villanova football squad did on Saturday, rolling past Sacred Heart, 34-10, in non-conference play to make it 22 straight wins at home for the ‘Cats and marking the fourth time in the past five seasons that the Wildcats have tallied nine regular season wins.

Since the start of 2021, the ‘Cats are 42-14, good for a .750 winning percentage.

🔼 Bragging Rights. The Villanova women’s hoops squad staked their claim to city bragging rights on Saturday, rolling past Temple, 88-58, in Big 5 action.

Ryanne Allen led the Wildcats with a career-high 19 points and a career-best six assists. She was 7-of-8 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range. Denae Carter tied her career-high with 17 points and she set a career-high with five steals.

Brynn McCurry tallied 13 points and a career-high tying eight rebounds, while Jasmine Bascoe and Brooke Bender had 11 points each.

🔼 Drive For Five. The Villanova men’s hoops team returns home tomorrow night to welcome the Monarchs of Old Dominion University into town for a mid-week tilt.

The ‘Cats will be seeking a fifth straight win when the two teams tip-off at 7 p.m.

🔼 Finishing Strong. One of the best seasons in recent years came to a close this past weekend for the Villanova women’s cross country squad.

Featuring a lineup that consisted exclusively of runners appearing at the NCAA Championships for the first time in their collegiate cross country careers finished 25th out of 32 teams on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.

It is the 33rd time that Villanova earned a team berth to the cross country national championships and the Wildcats best national finish since 2019.
