🔼 Run This City. The Villanova men’s hoops squad jumped out to an early lead and held La Salle to 3-of-13 from beyond the arc on their way to a methodical 70-55 Big Five win on Wednesday night at John A. Glaser Arena in Philadelphia.
Villanova never trailed and expanded a nine point halftime lead to a margin that grew to as many as 22 before the final score was entered into the scorebook.
Matt Hodge enjoyed his best game of his five-game college career, finishing with 17 points and three rebounds, connecting on 7-of-9 field goal attempts.

🔼 Senior Salutin’. The seventh-ranked Villanova football team hits the gridiron at home one final time this regular season when it welcomes Sacred Heart to town for a Saturday afternoon showdown.
Entering with seven straight wins, the Wildcats will look to extend that streak as well as its home winning streak, which currently sits at 21 after the overtime thriller over Stony Brook last weekend.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

🔼 Making The List. Villanova sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe is one of 50 players named to the Women's Preseason Wooden Award Watch List.
After five games in 2025-26, Bascoe leads the Wildcats in scoring with an 18.0 ppg., average and she is second in rebounding at 5.0 rebounds per contest. During her Villanova career, Bascoe has scored double figures in 34 of 39 career games, including a career-high 30 points this year against Fairfield on Nov. 5.
Bascoe and her teammates are back at home tomorrow for a Big Five showdown with Temple. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
🔼 Tourney Time. The Villanova volleyball squad will descend upon the Al McGuire Center this weekend as the three seed in the 2025 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship Presented By JEEP, participating in a third straight conference tournament.
Villanova (20-7, 11-5 BIG EAST) will face the Xavier Musketeers in Saturday's second semifinal with opening serve set for 3:30 p.m., and a win would send the 'Cats into Sunday's BIG EAST Championship title match.
Xavier rolls into the tournament into the postseason with only three losses all season, including two to top-seeded and 12th-ranked Creighton.

🔼 In Good Company. It’s been quite a start to the 2025-26 NBA season for former ‘Cat standout Collin Gillespie.
After a 19-point, six-assist night in Tuesday’s win over Portland, Gillespie became just the third player in NBA history with 150+ points, 75+ assists and 50+ rebounds in the first 15 games of a season off the bench.
He joins Russell Westbrook (2022-23) and LaMelo Ball (2020-21).
🔼 Smarty Cats. In a new release of NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data on Wednesday afternoon, an overall score of 98 percent continues to rank Villanova Athletics among the elite Division I schools in America for its combination of athletic and academic excellence. This is the fifth straight year of data in which the Wildcats had a score of 98 percent or higher.
Villanova is one of just 16 schools nationwide to post a score of at least 98 percent in Wednesday's release.
The overall score of 98 percent puts Villanova in a class of prestigious universities which includes six Ivy League schools and other elite academic institutions from around the country.
