🔼 Super Shane. Senior linebacker Shane Hartzell is making sure to leave it all on the field for the Villanova football program. For the second time this year and third time in his career, Hartzell was named the CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week.

In Saturday’s thrilling overtime win over Stony Brook, Hartzell tied his season-high with 10 tackles, including eight solo stops. He was credited with 2.5 tackles for a loss and a half a sack. For his career, Hartzell has 10 games with double-digit tackles in his illustrious Villanova career.

🔼 Battle For Bragging Rights. The odometer tells us that the distance from Villanova to La Salle's campus in Philadelphia is 9.6 miles. Yet on Wednesday night, that short distance doesn't figure to matter much as Villanova (3-1 overall, 0-0 Big Five) steps into a true road environment at John A. Glaser Arena.

It's Villanova's first visit to La Salle's campus since 2014 in a building that was refurbished and reopened in November 2024. The facility was previously known as Tom Gola Arena.

This is Villanova's road game in the 3-game pod format adopted in 2023. The Wildcats will host Temple on Monday, Dec. at Finneran Pavilion and then compete in the Big Five Classic on Saturday, Dec. 6 against either Penn, Saint Joseph's, or Drexel. Those matchups will be dictated by results in the La Salle and Temple contests.

As a proud partner of Villanova Basketball, NJM Insurance is giving you the chance to win four tickets with club access to Nova vs. Pitt on 12/13. You'll also score an autographed basketball, official team gear, a behind-the-scenes tour of Finneran Pavilion and Davis Center, and more. Don't miss your shot – enter before 11/21/25.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. After a 2-0 week for the Villanova men’s hoops squad, the guard duo of Acaden Lewis and Bryce Lindsay were both honored by the BIG EAST.

After averaging 11.5 points, 7.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in the Wildcats’ two victories last week, Lewis earned his first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolade, while Lindsay was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging 22.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last week.

🔼 Power Pair. The underclassmen duo of Jasmine Bascoe and Kennedy Henry were both honored this week for their outstanding performances last week for the Villanova women’s hoops team.

Henry averaged 11.5 points, 4.0 steals, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in the ‘Cats two games last week to be named Big Five Freshman of the Week, while Bascoe earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging 16.5 points per game last week.

The honor is presented annually to alumni who have rendered distinguished service to Villanova. Foye, who went on to an 11-year NBA career after his time with the Wildcats, continually has given back through mentorship, leadership and service, reflecting Villanova’s key values.

🔼 Youth Of A Nation. Big time players make big time plays in big time games.

That’s exactly what the Villanova volleyball program got from underclassmen Taylor Lewis and Reagan McGivern, who were key cogs in the Wildcats locking down a spot in this week’s BIG East Tournament.
