🔼 Bench Boost. Villanova men’s basketball dominated NJIT on Friday night, getting the 91-54 win. Eric Dixon led the ‘Cats with 22 points and 10 rebounds. The bench came up big, with reserves combining for 29 points. The Wildcats had a major 21-0 advantage in points scored off turnovers. They’ll play Saint Joseph’s tomorrow for the first of three Philadelphia Big Five matchups.

🔼 Strong Start. The women’s basketball team started the season with a win! They defeated Wake Forest 64-56 yesterday. Three Wildcats scored in double figures, with freshman Jasmine Bascoe leading the team with 18 points. Bronagh Power-Cassidy scored 17 with six rebounds and Maddie Webber scored 10 points. They’ll play at Princeton on Wednesday.
🔼 The Streak Continues. Wildcat football extended their home winning streak to 14 after beating North Carolina A&T 31-3. Connor Watkins tied a career-high with 18 completions. He added three total touchdowns and 167 passing yards. Jaylan Sanchez caught a touchdown pass from Watkins to start the scoring. Isaiah Ragland rushed for 82 yards, while David Avit rushed for 67 and a touchdown. The Villanova defense remained strong, allowing a season-low 169 yards.
🔼 Split The Weekend. Villanova volleyball split the weekend with one win and one loss. They started with a 3-1 win over Xavier on Friday. The win secured the postseason tiebreaker over Xavier, sweeping the Musketeers. The Wildcats turned around and fell to DePaul in five sets on Saturday. Elizabeth Feczko reached 1,000 career digs.
🔼 Back-To-Back. The men’s swimming & diving team picked up another win as they defeated Providence 147-75. The Wildcats had a 1-2-3 finish in the 400 medley relay. Nicholas Jubilee won the 1-meter dive, with Chris Jones behind him in third. Owen Nye won the 1000 free for the fifth consecutive time. Gavin Jones had two wins in the 200 free and 200 back. Justin Nowicki joined the win column in the 200 IM.
The day before, the women’s team defeated La Salle 202-96 and the men won 173-127. The Wildcats totaled 21 first-place finishes.
