🔼 Sneak Peek. Sunday will provide the first look at this year’s Villanova men’s basketball squad as the ‘Cats are set to travel to Rutgers to square off with former BIG EAST rival Rutgers in an exhibition contest.
Coming off a 24-9 campaign and an NCAA Tournament appearance in head coach Kevin Willard's first season, Villanova will get an early opportunity to showcase its retooled roster.
Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with the game being streamed live on B1G+.
🔼 Staying Clean. The top two teams in the BIG EAST went to battle on the Main Line on Wednesday afternoon with Villanova and Xavier both leaving with a point on the table, drawing 0-0 at Higgins Soccer Complex.
The scoreless stalemate brings Villanova to nine clean sheets on the season, matching the mark set by last year's team. The Wildcats maintain the unbeaten momentum they've built on the year, as one of just four teams nationally without a loss this fall.
This is also the first time Villanova has held Xavier without a goal since a 1-0 victory back on Sept. 29, 2019 and just the third time overall.
🔼 Helping Hands. Before even hitting the court this season, the Villanova women’s hoops team has already dished out assists in the local community.
Recently, the ‘Cats helped host the Philly Girls Got Game Clinic as part of St. Thomas Villanova Day of Service.
🔼 Praising A Pair. For the second straight week, Villanova field hockey had two players selected for BIG EAST Weekly Awards. Forward Colleen Finnan and Goalkeeper Maddi Sears both landed spots on the Weekly Honor Roll.
The two nominations move the 'Cats to eight total BIG EAST Weekly Award selections this season. Finnan and Sears mark the 21st pair of Wildcats to be selected to the Weekly Honor Roll in the same week.
