🔼 Wrecking Ball. Wildcat linebacker Shane Hartzell was named the FCS National Defensive Player of the Week and the CAA Defensive Player of the Week! He had a career-high 20 tackles and two tackles for loss in the 14-6 win over New Hampshire. His 20 tackles are the second-most by an FCS player this season. He leads the team with 75 tackles this season.

🔼 Roll Call. Women’s soccer midfielder Alex Fava earned her first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll spot this week. She scored three points at Providence with a goal and an assist. It was her first goal at Villanova. She and the Wildcats will play their last game of the regular season at Butler tomorrow at 7 p.m.

🔼  Senior Day Celebration. The men’s soccer team honored seniors Jordan Canica, O’Neil Dawes, Kyle Dixon, Tommy Johnson, Vincent Petrera and Balthi Saunders yesterday. The day ended in a 1-1 draw with Drexel. Canica set up Jason Bouregy for the lone Wildcat goal in the 58th minute. They’ll play at Seton Hall on Saturday.

🔼 Around The World. In August, three Wildcat women’s lacrosse players participated in the U20 World Championships! Twin sisters Isabella and Gabriella Henson-Vendrell were named captains of Team Puerto Rico, while Elena Torres was captain of Team Mexico. Torres was encouraged by the sisters, who enjoyed playing internationally previously, to try out for Mexico. The three Wildcats are looking ahead to making the senior teams and competing as Olympians in 2028.
