🔼 Homecoming Heroics. Defense was the name of the game in Saturday’s 14-6 Homecoming win over New Hampshire. At one point, the game went 33 minutes without a score. The Villanova defense made every big stop, with Shane Hartzell recording a career-high 20 tackles. Linebacker Brendan Bell had a career-high 4.5 tackles for loss.
The first Nova touchdown came in the second quarter when Connor Watkins completed a 25-yard pass to Lucas Kopecky for six. His second touchdown pass came in the fourth quarter to Devin Smith.

🔼 Perfect Practice. Villanova fans got to see the Wildcats in their first game action of the season - or at least unofficial game action. In a charity exhibition game, they defeated Robert Morris 87-73. It benefited Team Impact — an organization that matches children with serious illnesses and disabilities with college sports teams. Eric Dixon, Enoch Boakye and Jordan Longino combined for 64 points and 21 rebounds. Dixon led all scorers with 28 points. Although it doesn’t count, it was a promising showing for the Wildcats.
🔼 Best Yet. Villanova rowing had their best outing at the Schuylkill in the Coach Carissa Adams era. The Wildcats had a pair of fourth-place finishes and five top-20 finishes overall. The Championship Fours and Eights had the fourth-place finishes. They’ll compete again on November 10 at the Bucknell Invitational.
🔼 Break Out The Brooms. The volleyball team swept Butler on Alumni Night Saturday! Cat Young led the ‘Cats with nine kills, six digs, and three aces. The win was the eighth sweep of the season. They’ll hit the road to play Marquette on Friday.
🔼 Winning Weekend. Field hockey picked up two wins over the weekend. The first was on Friday, as the Wildcats shut out No. 19 Temple 3-0. Ava Borkowski earned her second hat trick of the season, scoring all of the Villanova goals. Maddi Sears recorded her third shutout of the season. The winning continued on Sunday as they got the 4-3 win over Fairfield. Anne Drabbe, Emma Leppert, Emma Schwarz and Raina Smolij were honored in Senior Day celebrations before the game.
