🔼 High Five! The left arm of fifth-year quarterback Pat McQuaide and a dominant defensive effort led the 15th-ranked Villanova football team to a 56-14 romp over Hampton on Saturday. It marked the fourth straight overall victory for the Wildcats and the 19th straight at home.
McQuaide finished with a career-high five touchdowns on just 13 pass attempts in the first half alone. He finished the day 10-of-13 for 166 yards and the five TDs. On the day, eight different Wildcats scored a touchdown, including four who scored for the first time in their collegiate careers.

🔼 Opening Act. In its first action under new William B. Finneran Endowed Head Coach Kevin Willard, Villanova took control early and held VCU at bay the rest of the way in a 70-51 victory over VCU in an exhibition game played on Sunday evening at Finneran Pavilion.
Freshman guard Acaden Lewis led a balanced attack for VU with 15 points and three assists. Tyler Perkins added 14 points and five rebounds while Bryce Lindsay chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds. Duke Brennan overcame first half foul trouble to deliver 10 points and seven caroms.

🔼 Milestone Makers. A weekend business trip to the Northeast was filled with milestones for the Villanova volleyball program, who swept the weekend with 3-1 wins over Providence and UConn.
The Saturday victory in Storrs not only handed the Huskies their first home loss of the season (previously 10-0), but also marked the first road victory by Villanova at UConn since 2010.
Junior Abby Harrell was the star of the weekend with 38 kills in the two wins to reach 1,000 career kills, while head coach Josh Steinbach surpassed 300 career victories in his 18 season with the Wildcats.
🔼 Point Earned. For the third time in five BIG EAST matches, the Villanova men’s soccer team earned a result, posting a 1-1 draw with visiting Creighton on Friday afternoon.
The Wildcats got a penalty kick goal from junior Marcello Mazzola in the 75th minute and reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week Alex Yagudayev continued his strong play with a seven-save performance, with Creighton firing off 18 shots on the afternoon.
🔼 Running Wild. Something special is brewing with the Villanova women’s cross country.
The Wildcats continued to show the depth of its roster this past weekend earning a second-place finish in the Pre-National Invitational at Gans Creek Cross Country Course. Villanova, ranked No. 19 in the country entering the meet, beat four other nationally ranked squads and finished behind only the top-ranked team in the nation, BYU, based on the most recent national polls.
🔼 Weekend Work. What’s better than a winning weekend? How about a ✌️ win weekend?
That’s what the Villanova women’s swimming & diving program put together with road victories at Seton Hall (168-54) on Friday and at UConn (186.5-113.5) on Saturday.
🔼 Sneak Peek. Women’s Basketball season is just around the corner, and we have the perfect way to celebrate.
