🏆 National cross country honors
🏈 Rookie of the Week
🔷 And much, much more!

Starting Up is powered by our friends at Jeff D’Ambrosio Auto Group, a leading auto dealership serving Chester County and the surrounding communities since 1975.

🔼 Best In The Nation. Women’s cross country senior Sadie Sigfstead has been named the DI Women’s Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA! She won the individual title at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational last weekend with a margin of victory of more than seven seconds. She won the race on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, where the NCAA Championships will be held later this year. Sigfstead is the first Villanova women’s athlete to earn national weekly honors.

🔼 Rookie Moves. Villanova football running back David Avit was named the CAA Rookie of the Week! The true freshman rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s win over Long Island. His 160 yards were the most by a Wildcat true freshman since 1977.

Neal played 163 minutes last week, including 90 in the Wildcats’ clean sheet win over Creighton.

🔼 That’s A Wrap. The golf team finished the UConn Invitational tied for sixth place. The Wildcats shot 33-over as a team. Two Wildcats finished in the top 20 with Vibhav Alokam finishing 11th and Matt Zerfass finishing 15th. They’ll take a week off before playing in the Georgetown Intercollegiate October 14 & 15.
