🔼 Young Gun. Villanova volleyball picked up its third conference major weekly award of the season on Monday as middle blocker Reagan McGivern earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week following a 2-0 opening weekend.

The accolade marks the first VU Freshman of the Week since Alyssa Nelson in October of 2024 and makes McGivern the third Wildcat on the current roster with a FOTW nod (Nelson and Abby Harrell).

🔼 Ok, Rook. Freshman Back Brody Crampton was named Philly Soccer Six Rookie of the Week this week after scoring a pivotal tying goal in Villanova's 2-1 win at nationally-ranked Connecticut on Saturday night in Storrs.
 
The goal was Cramton's first as a collegian and came off an expertly served corner kick from Michael teDuits.

🔼 Show Stopper. Make it 3️⃣ Rookie of the Week accolades after freshman Sophie Volkel of the Villanova field hockey squad earned her first BIG EAST honor by being selected as Rookie of the Week.

Juniors Colleen Finnan and Gemma Lysaght also got recognized for BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

🔼 Iced Out. Former Villanova standout Ice Waxter has a new home as the Los Angeles Chargers inked him to their practice squad.

After earning All-CAA accolades with the Wildcats, Waxter signed with the Seahawks this past summer for training camp. After being released by Seattle, the former ‘Cat has a new home in LA.

🔼 Poll Position. With CAA action heating up, the Villanova football squad will once again hit the road for a tough test against perennial conference contender, New Hampshire this Saturday.

In the latest national polls, the ‘Cats remained steady in the rankings, sitting at #18 nationally.

🔼 Three’s Company. Senior Matt Zerfass earned his best career start, finishing third at the UConn Invitational, to pace the Villanova men’s golf team to a fifth-place overall finish.

In Tuesday’ final round, the Wildcats shot their second best round of the tournament, shooting 290 (+9) and had the fourth best score of the 15 teams competing.
