🔼 Movin’ On Up. Heads are turning, folks. Riding a five-game win streak, a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 3-0 in BIG EAST play, the Villanova men’s hoops team has caught the attention of national voters.
 
The Wildcats moved into the USA Today Coaches poll at No. 24. They were two spots lower in the Associated Press poll at No. 26 with 127 points, just shy of returning to the Top 25 in that poll for the first time since November 2023 after their three wins at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
 
Tonight, Villanova is back in action against another team near the top of the BIG EAST standings, Creighton.

🔼 Diaper Dandy. A rising star is unfolding right in front of our eyes as Villanova Women’s Basketball freshman Kennedy Henry took home a pair of Freshman of the Week accolades, earning recognition from the BIG EAST and the Philadelphia Big Five

Henry averaged 15.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals, and 1.6 blocks in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats.

In the 74-64 win over Creighton, the freshman scored a career-high 19 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from deep. She added six rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks in the win.

🔼 Roll Call. The backcourt of both Villanova basketball programs were recognized with spots on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

On the men’s side, sharpshooter Bryce Lindsay was outstanding for the ‘Cats in a pair of wins last week. Against DePaul, Lindsay tallied 19 points while knocking down 5-of-10 from the perimeter.  The 6-3 guard scored 11 of his 18 points in the second half, keying a comeback for the Wildcats at Butler on Jan. 3.

For the women, Jasmine Bascoe continued to be a force for Villanova. She averaged 13.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats. In the 74-64 win over the Bluejays, the sophomore scored 15 points and dished six assists. She ended the week with 20 points, three rebounds and four assists at Marquette.
