🔼 South Philly Special. The men’s basketball team put on a show at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday night! They defeated Providence 75-73 after rallying from a halftime deficit. Eric Dixon scored 23 points to go with eight rebounds to lead the Wildcats. Jhamir Brickus scored 18 with four assists, while Wooga Poplar recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The Wildcats will host Georgetown at The Finn tonight at 6 p.m., presented by Jersey Mike’s. Fans at home can tune in on FS1.

🔼 Break Out The Brooms. The women’s basketball team completed the season sweep of St. John’s! They defeated the Red Storm 66-64 in their second and final meeting of the season. Maddie Webber led the Wildcats with 17 points, while Jasmine Bascoe added nine points and a career-high eight assists. The Wildcats improved to 10-9 overall and 4-3 in BIG EAST play.

🔼 Strong Start. Villanova’s indoor track & field season started strong at the Quaker Invitational with several top-four finishes. On the women’s side, Emma McGill and Emily Robinson won their respective events, the mile and 800m, while Micah Trusty set a personal best in the 500m. On the men’s side of the track, Dan Watcke broke the Villanova school record in the 1000m with a time of 2:20.10, shattering a mark that stood for nearly 46 years. The team also won the men’s 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:19.35, led by a strong anchor leg from Sal Barretta. Several other Wildcats posted personal bests and strong performances in their respective events.

🔼 Squashed The Spiders. Villanova women’s swim & dive defeated Richmond with a score of 165-135. Alexa Fegley won the 3-meter dive with a score of 258.68. Katie Vaughan set a personal best in the 1-meter dive and placed second in the 3-meter dive. Multiple Wildcats finished the day with first-place finishes in the pool. They’ll take on West Virginia on Saturday.
