🔼 Clipping Their Wings. To win on the road in the BIG EAST, you need to gut out all 40 minutes.
That’s what the Villanova men’s hoops squad did on Saturday, earning a third straight conference road win with a 76-73 defeat of Marquette at Fiserv Forum.
Matt Hodge and Tyler Perkins sank key baskets in the final two minutes while Acaden Lewis authored another brilliant performance, finishing with 20 points and eight assists, including the helper that led to Perkins' bucket with 11 seconds to play. Devin Askew provided a major lift with 13 points and six rebounds.
🔼 Rollin’ On The Road. The red-hot Villanova women’s hoops team rolled to a BIG EAST road win on Sunday, dominating Providence, 85-55, to improve to 14-3 overall and 7-1 in BIG EAST play.
The Wildcats scored the game’s first nine points and never looked back en route to a convincing victory.
In the win, Brynn McCurry led four Wildcats in double figures with a game-high 20 points. She was 9-of-11 from the field. Jasmine Bascoe finished with 19 points and seven assists, while Ryanne Allen had 14 points and Kelsey Joens chipped in with 11 points.

🔼 Two More Chances. ‘Cats fans, you have two more chances to catch Episode #6 of Inside Villanova Basketball presented by Toyota.

🔼 Making Quite An Impression. The very first throw that graduate student Maria Deaviz took in a Villanova singlet set a school record early Saturday evening as she recorded a mark of 16.15 meters in the shot put at the Penn Select Invitational.
She is the first athlete in program history to surpass 16 meters in women's shot put and she broke the Wildcats previous mark which had stood for nearly four years. Deaviz finished first out of 21 competitors in the event.
