🔼 Upset Alert. The men’s basketball team knocked off the back-to-back national champions of UConn on Wednesday night! The Wildcats defeated the No. 9 Huskies 68-66. As the Huskies tried to make a comeback, Villanova’s defense proved crucial, limiting UConn’s scoring opportunities and capitalizing on turnovers to maintain their lead. Eric Dixon led the ‘Cats with 23 points, while Wooga Poplar scored 18.

🔜 Villanova will head up the New Jersey Turnpike into New York City for a matchup with St. John’s at Madison Square Garden tomorrow at 7 p.m. Fans at home can watch on CBS Sports Network.

🔼 Our Town. The women’s basketball team took over Georgetown on Wednesday night, beating the Hoyas 77-62. The Wildcats dominated the first half, shooting 66.7% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range, to take a 42-22 lead. Maddie Webber led Villanova with 19 points plus three rebounds. Denae Carter scored 15 and led the Wildcats with seven rebounds. They’ll travel to Milwaukee to play Marquette tomorrow at 3 p.m.

🔼  Nation’s Best. Men’s basketball’s Eric Dixon has been named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List! Dixon leads the nation in scoring with 25.7 points per game.
