What are we having with our Brew?

⚾️ Baseball takes down Creighton
🥎 Softball secures fifth conference series sweep
🔷 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Smash Hit. Villanova baseball put on a hitting clinic in Saturday’s 13-6 win over Creighton! The ‘Cats launched three home runs and recorded 12 hits in the win. The bats were hot early as they picked up nine runs in the first two innings. Josue Valdez, Scott Shaw, and Jack O’Reilly each hit home runs to extend the lead. Villanova went on to win Sunday’s rubber match, 6-5. Sunday’s game started a little quieter than Saturday’s, the first run waited till the seventh inning to be scored. The Wildcats scored five in that inning, but Creighton had it tied up going into the bottom of the ninth. Jason Neff walked it off with a line drive off the right field wall to secure the win.

🔼 Five On It. The Wildcat softball team has swept five conference series after taking down DePaul this weekend. They started the weekend in the Windy City strong with a 7-0 shutout on Friday. Alyssa Seidler threw a complete game allowing just one hit and striking out 12 batters. She’s the first Wildcat pitcher to strike out double digit batters since 2022. They continued on Saturday with an 8-2 win. Lilly St. Jean and Ava Franz had two hits and three RBI each, while Brooklyn Ostrowski and Kelsey White hit solo home runs. The sweep was complete on Sunday in an 8-3 victory. Four Wildcats had two hits — Lilly, Ally Jones, Tess Cites, and Elaina Wagner.

🔼 Never Looked Back. Starting off strong was the theme of the weekend for the Wildcats. The men’s lacrosse team beat Marquette 12-6 on Saturday after dominating the first quarter. Ryan Cunningham proved why he was Big East Freshman of the Week as he went 10-17 on faceoffs against one of the best in the country. The ‘Cats are inching closer to their 12th-straight Big East Tournament berth.

🔼 Eight Is Great. Villanova rowing had a solid showing at the Mason Invite yesterday. Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight boats made Grand Finals, the first time a pair of Eights made Grand Finals since 2022. They both made top-three finishes in their morning heats to move on to the afternoon. V8 finished in fourth-place, while 2V8 finished the day in sixth.

🔷 ONE BIG THING

Movin’ On Up. Four Wildcats moved up in the track & field record books at the Virginia Challenge! Tristan Bolinsky moved to No. 4 in the Villanova top-10 with a 55.58m throw. He also ranks fourth in the conference this season. Justin Miller moved to No. 9 in the record books with his 7.36m long jump. On the women’s side of things, Alex Payne recorded the seventh-longest hammer throw in Villanova history with a distance of 53.56m. Olivia Allen ran a 1:00.78 400m hurdle to rank first in the Big East and tenth in the Wildcat record book.
